Process Toolbar

The Process Toolbar (see image) is the popup window that is displayed on top of the editor interface. On the toolbar, you will find buttons to insert, edit or remove process steps; clear the whole editor view; and execute the current process.

You can show/hide the Process Toolbar by clicking on the “Toolbar” toggle button on the ribbon. Follow the below sections for a detailed explanation.

1. Insert step - category

If you want to insert a step into your process first you should select that process step. Djeeni has a number of steps to choose from; organised in some categories. First, you should choose the category: is the process step deals with a workbook, a worksheet, a cell/range, communication or lists/ifs? Select the appropriate category to see the corresponding process steps.

2. Insert step - step

Select from the list the step you want to insert. If you cannot find it it may be under a different category. Do you need a step that you cannot find at all? Let us know at https://djeeni.com/contact , we are constantly adding new process steps.

3. Insert step - Djeeni name

When you tell Djeeni to use a worksheet, range or if or to start a list you should give a Djeeni name to it. Later, when this worksheet, range or list is used in other steps the given Djeeni name must be used to identify it. Example:

WSheet Use Djeeni Name: wsExample 'give a Djeeni name
  ...
WSheet Rename DjeeniName: wsExample 'refer to the Djeeni name

After you have selected the step, Djeeni automatically selects one of the two fields to let you either enter a new Djeeni name (below) or select an existing Djeeni name (above). Fill the appropriate field (some process steps - e.g. Message- do not require a Djeeni name so you have to fill none of the fields).

4. Insert step - location, auto edit

Before the new process step is actually inserted you can set two options:

  • By default the new process step is inserted before the current process step (red shape in the visual editor; dark grey background in the detail editor). By checking Add to End will insert the step after the last process step. This setting is very handy when the first version of the process is created.
  • You can immediately set the parameters of the new process step if you check the Edit checkbox. After inserting the new step in the visual editor, Djeeni displays the parameter popup window automatically.

5. Insert step - insert button

Once you are ready selecting, naming and setting you process step, click on this button to actually insert it. If you insert a process step that requires a new Djeeni name, you can also push Enter in the 'Named as:' field to perform the insertion.

6. Edit and remove a process step; clear the editor

You can always edit the parameters of the current process step with the Edit button. It opens the parameter popup windows of the step. The Edit checkbox in the Insert step section performs an automatic Edit for the newly inserted process step. Also, double-clicking any process step in the process has the same effect: editing the parameters of the double-clicked process step.

You can remove the current process step by clicking the Remove button. Djeeni asks for confirmation before actually removing the step. Please note that removing a single step is different from clearing the whole process (see Clear below) from the editor.

7. Editor views

Djeeni provides different views of your process. The main view is the Visual Editor where you can see your process in a friendly process diagram form. Click the Visual Editor button to get to this view.

if you want to see your process in details; all process steps together with their parameters then you can switch to the Detail Editor. This view gives you more detailed control over your process. Some users may find this view even better to edit the process.

A very seldom situation that you want to restart a process from scratch and you Clear the editor. We suggest that you start a new process instead. But if you really need to remove all process steps and start over then you can click on the Clear button. Please note, that Clear removes all process steps. If you want to remove only a single process step then click on the Remove button. Also not, that clearing the process view does not mean that you have started a new process. You are still editing the current process and if you save it after clearing the editor then you will lose it.

8. Execution, checking the results

Once your process is ready, you can execute it by clicking on the Run/Execute button. Djeeni creates a verbose log of the process execution next to informing you about the result and possible execution errors via popup windows.

To check the results of the execution you can:

  • go to the Detail editor and next to each process step read the most important feedbacks; or
  • click on the execution result link next to a process step in the Detail Editor and gather the relevant log information in a popup window; or
  • click on the Execution Log button and read the log for the execution of the process.
